coverWelcome

It gives us great pleasure to bring you a slice of Cornwall every month. We work very hard to cover every aspect of the county, because we know Cornwall means so many different things to so many people.

It’s the fresh sea air, or the wild rugged moors. It’s the village you visit every summer, or the town where you grew up. It’s jaw-droppingly beautiful scenery, combined with an awe-inspiring sense of heritage and identity.

We know we’re getting it right, because our mailbox (electronic and conventional) delivers regular glowing testimonials from readers who tell us how much they look forward to every issue. For some, it transports them to a place they’d like to be; for others, it opens their eyes to the undiscovered joys on their doorstep.

It’s also gratifying to be recognized and rewarded by the industry. On May 8, Cornwall Today was judged against its peers at the Press Gazette Regional Press Awards, and scooped the prestigious title of Magazine of the Year 2009.

The judges said Cornwall Today “had the smell of the sea and dealt brilliantly with the history and culture of the community”. The Cornwall Today team is proud to shout about everything that’s good about the county, while reflecting that fact that it’s a real county, facing real issues and with real people at its beating heart.

As well as dedicated staff members, we rely on the input of talented freelances: writers with an ear to the ground, and photographers who produce the stunning images that make Cornwall Today stand out from its competitors. I’d like to thank them for making this happen – and you, the reader, for your support. Without you, there would be no magazine.
