Goonwinnow Farm is situated in a secluded valley within its own 7-acre grounds, between the villages of Mitchell and St Newlyn East. Our 4 beautiful cottages (ETB 4* rated) have been converted from the original farm buildings and sleep 4 to 8 people. The games room, hot tub, sauna and playing field means there is always somewhere to let off steam whatever the weather. Our central location makes us the perfect base to explore ALL of Cornwall, with the stunning beaches of the North Coast just 15 minutes away.
Wheel and Mill House both sleep 8. Each has 2 double bedrooms (1 king, 1 double), 2 twin rooms, 2 shower rooms and 1 bathroom.
The Stables and Piggery both sleep 4. Each has a double bedroom (king), a twin room and 1 bathroom with shower.

Guests are welcome to wander around our well-kept grounds. We keep one field mown providing plenty of space for football, cricket, kite flying and picnics.
Goonwinnow Farm is between the villages of Mitchell and Newlyn East, both of which have a pub. Newlyn also has a butcher, village shop and post office. We can often organise baby- sitting if required.

Places to visit include Tintagel, Boscastle, Padstow, The Eden Project, Lanhydrock House, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Flambards Fun Park, Land’s End, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth and the Tate Gallery in St Ives. Newquay, 6 miles away, is the UK surfing capital.
For the Adrenalin Addicts we can organise horse riding, go-karting, quad biking, power-kiting, kite-buggying , mountain boarding and surfing lessons. Why not take a fishing trip out of Padstow or a day trip to by helicopter to the Scilly Isles?
Food-lovers will appreciate the increasing number of good restaurants and beach cafes in the area.
If you enjoy walking we have plenty of maps and guide books to help you plan your day out and there are many National Trust properties and gardens to visit.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
There is so much to do in Cornwall and from Land’s End in the south to Bude in the north nowhere is further than an hour from Goonwinnow. There is no need to travel that far though. In a 15 minute radius you will find plenty to do for young families there are great beaches at Perranporth, Holywell Bay, Polly Joke and Crantock. Just down the valley is the Lappa Valley Steam Railway – real Thomas the Tank experience for little ones with other rides and even a cream tea for Mum! Dairyland Farm Park, just over the hill, is also popular with our younger guests. Here you can watch the cows being milked and feed the animals. There is a good outdoor play area and an indoor play barn for rainy days.
Golfers are well catered for, locally we have several par 3 courses for the inexperienced players and for the keener players (handicaps required) there are courses at Newquay, Perranporth and Truro. A bit further up the coast there are superb courses at Trevose and St Enodoc.
The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan attract many visitors but there are plenty of other less well known gardens such as Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick to name but a few.
Historians will love Trerice House, a small Elizabethan manor house just outside St Newlyn East. Lanhydrock House and gardens, Tintagel and Cotehele House are great days out.
Many beaches have surf board and wetsuit hire facilities. We can arrange surfing lessons and power kiting and mountain boarding sessions.
Cornwall’s answer to Alton Towers is Flambards Fun Park near Helston. There are countless other attractions including Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Callistick Cyder Farm, Goonhilly Satellite Station, the Minack Theatre, Boscastle, Padstow and the Camel Estuary Cycle Trail, St Ives and the Tate Gallery……. I could go on! But you will find a comprehensive selection of tourist information in your cottage and we are always happy to chat and suggest places to visit.
Both Mitchell and St Newlyn East have good places to eat. We can recommend many others, from take-aways and MacDonalds to Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant, there are places to suit all budgets and palates!
All cottages are non-smoking.
