Lower Penhallow Farm offers you two semi-detached, two-storey holiday homes, one sleeping four people, the other one six, in a converted Cornish granite barn. Your stay is in the heart of a working farm on the Roseland Peninsula, far from main roads, with space, peace and quiet.

Lower Penhallow Farm is close to the south coast of Cornwall, on the Roseland Peninsula. With 72 acres of wheat and barley, and rarebreed cows, it is a fully working farm in a peaceful, rural setting surrounded by Cornish wildflower hedgerows.

The barn was converted in 1997, and both units are fitted with modern equipment. They have oil-fired central heating, a wood-burning stove, satellite TV and video, DVD, power showers, ceramic hob cookers with oven, a microwave, dishwasher and free wireless broadband internet access for your laptop. A washing machine and drier are also available, as are a cot, high chair and stair gate. There is off-road parking, covered parking for bikes, and room for small boats and trailers. The garden to the rear of the barn has a barbecue and is ideal for taking meals outside or just relaxing in the sun after a day’s activity. Both units look out over charming countryside to the south.

The smaller unit -
Downstairs there is one double bedroom, one bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with bath/shower and toilet. Upstairs is the living room, a combined kitchen and dining area and another toilet.

The larger unit -
The larger unit has four bedrooms and sleeps 6. The bathroom and three bedrooms are downstairs: one twin, one bunk room and one with two single beds. Upstairs is the double bedroom with en suite shower/toilet and a combined kitchen, dining and living room.

The owners of Lower Penhallow Farm live on the premises and speak English, Danish, French and German. Both units are graded with four stars by the English Tourism Council and are inspected annually. A German-language page is available on our website.

We keep rarebreed cows, chickens and geese, and home-grown produce is often available for sale to guests. Pets may be brought by prior arrangement.

Bookings are normally from Saturday to Saturday starting at 3 pm and finishing at 10 am on the day of departure. Outside the main holiday seasons, bookings on other days of the week and short breaks can be arranged.

A deposit of 25 % is required to confirm your booking, with the balance being due 21 days before arrival, and we recommend that you take out a cancellation insurance. In the event of your cancellation, every effort will be made to rebook and if successful your 75 % balance will be refunded. The deposit is not refundable.

Bed linen, towels, electricity, central heating and use of a washing machine and drier are included in the rental price. Prices are in pounds, per week per unit and include VAT.

DIRECTIONS
If arriving by car, take the A3078 signposted to Tregony and St. Mawes, from the A390 St. Austell to Truro road, near Probus. Continue past Tregony to Ruanhighlanes. Approximately one mile after Ruanhighlanes, turn right immediately after the double bend (signposted to Treworlas and Treworthal).

After approximately 800m, turn right at our white signpost "Lower Penhallow Farm".

There are also frequent and inexpensive connections to Newquay airport from Stansted by Ryanair, and from Gatwick and the north of England by Air Southwest. Hire cars are available from Newquay airport.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Around the Farm -
There's a mown field available for children to use bikes, play football or frisbee. Children are welcome to assist with feeding cows and chickens, and collecting eggs, and sometimes there are piglets for them to see. In late summer, visitors can watch the harvesting. We have also prepared an informative farm trail around our fields and down to our wildlife pond.

Footpaths -
Many of our visitors take the 25 minute walk across the fields to Pendower, a sandy swimming beach, where they can join the south west coastal path.

The Roseland Peninsula -
This is known for its unspoilt rural and coastal scenery with plenty of walks for all ages and good swimming beaches. St Anthony Head and lighthouse, the famous church at St Just-in-Roseland, the harbour villages of Porthscatho and St Mawes with the ferry across to Falmouth and other boat and fishing trips - all can be combined into interesting days out without the need for a long drive. From May, visitors can take a boat trip starting from Smugglers' Cottage, 2 miles from here, up the River Fal to Truro and back, or sail down to Falmouth.

Further Afield
Cornwall offers a wide range of outstanding scenery, walks, attractions and good beaches. Land's End is approximately 90 minutes away, Newquay and other north coast beaches are about 40 minutes.

Up to 2 dogs welcome by arrangement.
