Bathroom and separate shower room. Short walk to unspoilt sandy beach. Utility and cleaning costs included in rental price.
Church Cottage has remained in the owners’ family since 1920. The property has recently been redecorated and refurbished to a high standard. The many pictures, rugs and furniture give a feeling of a much-loved family home. The three large bedrooms comprise one double king-sized bed, one room with a double bed and a single bed and a cot and one bedroom with twin beds. All bedrooms have night storage heaters. All the beds are equipped with new duvets and pillows. Visitors are requested to bring their own sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers and towels. An exception may be made for overseas visitors for whom linen can be provided at a minimal cost. The family bathroom has a bath, w.c. and wash hand basin. There is a separate shower room and a downstairs w.c.
The downstairs consists of a large sitting/dining room extending the length of the cottage. In the hall there is a noticeboard and bookshelf containing a collection of local maps and guide books. The front door leads off the hall. The back door leads through a small utility room where there is a washing machine. The kitchen has a range of modern units, refrigerator with small freezer, an electric cooker, microwave, blender and good quality cooking equipment.
The sitting room has two comfortable sofas, easy chairs, night storage heaters and a coal effect gas fire. There is a TV and VCR and radio. There is shelving with books and a collection of children’s games and toys. At one end is the dining area with table and chairs for six; a high chair is also available. On a side table is a toaster and coffee maker. There is an information folder and visitors book on a second side table. The visitors’ book contains many useful comments on the locality and has records of numerous bird sightings and artists’ comments. 65% of our guests have had one or more previous visits to the cottage.
The secluded and totally private garden is surrounded by a high hedge. It is mainly laid to lawn with shrubs, flower borders and tubs of plants. There are garden chairs, table and bench for outdoor meals. Views from the rooms of the cottage are over neighbouring gardens and from the upstairs rooms there are glimpses of the Hayle Estuary beyond the church and golf course.
Parking is opposite the cottage, outside the church. All heating and cleaning costs are included in the rental price.
