Hayle Sands is an excellent three-mile sandy beach that stretches from the Hayle estuary to Gwithian Towans and Godrevy point. The lower half is close to the town of Hayle and comprises different sections of beach, known as Hayle Towans, Black Cliff and Mexico Towans.
Access: Approach Hayle on the A30 from the east. At the Hayle roundabout take the far right for Hayle. Shortly after the roundabout there is a double roundabout. Go straight across. The first turning on the right is no-entry. Take the second turning on the right and then follow the road through Phillack to the car park. Then walk the various roads/tracks down to the beach. As far as dogs are concerned, there are different rules for the different beaches. Dogs are banned on the beach from Hayle Towans to Black Cliff from Easter Day to October 1. Dogs are allowed at Mexico Towans all year.

If St Ives is the jewel in the crown of Cornwall, then Carbis Bay is a treasure waiting to be discovered. The beach is privately owned and maintained by the Carbis Bay Hotel, so is never overcrowded. Dogs are banned from Easter until October. Among the many delightful walks, the cliff path to St Ives is not to be missed, with its spectacular views of the coast all the way to Hayle and Godrevy Lighthouse. Watch the dolphins, and enjoy the changing colours of the sea. For day visitors, parking is provided by the Carbis Bay Hotel next to the beach. Alternatively, there is parking up the hill at the Station or Porthreptor Road. Facilities on the beach include a shop, cafe and toilets, and a lifeguard operates in high season. With usually calm sea conditions and a sheltered aspect, Carbis Bay beach offers very safe bathing and is ideal for windsurfing and water-skiing.
