Sterts is situated just a two-minute drive from Lower Netherton, at Upton Cross, near Liskeard, and is one of the country's more atmospheric drama and music venues, beneath a canvas cover in the middle of Bodmin Moor.
Sterts promotes the very best in drama, music, dance, printing, photography, sculpture and crafts within its theatre, gallery and grounds, making it as accessible as possible to the residents of Cornwall and Devon, and the many regular visitors to the area.

The centre provides hands-on experience and opportunities in many art forms for everyone, with a particular emphasis on the needs of young people.
The theatre is open from June to September, has its own bar, as well as an arts and craft shop, and is conveniently located opposite the excellent Caradon Inn at Upton Cross, serving good food.

Lane Theatre, Newquay’s only live theatre, is owned and operated by Newquay Dramatic Society, a registered charity, and the theatre is run by the members for the benefit of the local community.
Newquay Dramatic Society was founded in May 1931 and has been presenting plays continuously since that date. The society bought the former Lane Village Hall in 1981 and has been improving and adapting it ever since. In 1999 the society received substantial National Lottery funding which enabled it to extend the building and improve facilities, creating what is now an intimate 136-seat theatre.
The society is very grateful to the Friends of the Cosy Nook Theatre (no longer in existence), Prosper (Devon & Cornwall TEC) and Restormel Borough Council for their assistance.

Falmouth Arts Centre is changing. The Poly, as it is affectionately known by local people, has been revamped with creative and practical initiatives. The centre has changed its trusty seating, installed in the 1960s, and replaced the chairs with new, more comfortable seats in a re-raked auditorium, to provide increased leg room. The centre continues to stage an exciting range of foreign and arthouse films, as well as Hollywood blockbusters and movies for young people, programmed by Kate Rogers.
Another exciting development is the new Digital Lounge where experimental Cornish and independent films may be enjoyed in a laid-back environment.
Alongside all this, the centre continues with its commitment to top-notch live events of the highest standard, from international artists in the arenas of theatre, traditional and world music, dance, and classical music, as well as a varied range of talks and lectures.

This is Cornwall’s largest theatre venue. Through the 1960s and 70s what was then the City Hall deteriorated and by the mid-80s Carrick Council broached the idea of selling it for development. Immediately a bitter battle began between council and community.
A performance by Duchy Opera in Carn Brea Leisure Centre, starring Benjamin Luxon, brought home the need for a mid-scale venue in Cornwall. A core group, including Mr Luxon, Chris Warner and some Carrick councillors, met to discuss the future. Carrick offered them a 125-year lease on the Hall at £1 a year and £500,000. They accepted and the campaign for a new City Hall began. Work on the venue took just over 18 months and the inaugural performance took place in November 1997. Now the Hall for Cornwall attracts just under 150,000 theatre-goers each year.
The theatre has hosted performers such as Rambert Dance Company and The Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as a wide range of entertainers from Bill Wyman and Mike Reid to Coldplay and Wheatus.

Cornwall’s internationally famous open-air theatre built into the cliffs at Porthcurno in west Cornwall was created by one remarkable woman, Rowena Cade. Visitors can discover how she came to Cornwall after a Victorian childhood in Cheltenham, and see how a local play in 1929 led her to build the Minack Theatre.
It is a unique place to visit at any time of the year, but live performances take on a very special atmosphere against the dramatic backdrop. The summer season of performances runs from May until September.
