If you’re interested in keeping hens or hoping to add more to your flock then the British Hen Welfare Trust’s (BHWT) re-homing days are just the ticket. The events will take place on Saturday, February 7 in Camelford and in Bodmin on Sunday, February 22.
The BHWT who are celebrating their 10th Anniversary this year hopes to find happy, free range retirement homes for hundreds of ex-bat hens and has successfully re-homed almost 450,000 since it began in 2005.
The charity is appealing to anyone who is able to offer a permanent home to contact them beforehand to reserve the hens by calling 01884 860084, or emailing email@example.com
You can also help ex-bat hens by taking part in the BHWT’s Free Range Friday fundraiser on Pancake Day (February 17). Get friends, family or work colleagues together to bake pancakes using free range eggs to help raise money and awareness for hen welfare.
The charity is even offering an exclusive prize; a gorgeous cockerel mat donated by the kind people at Turtle Mat, to the best fundraiser this February. So if you’d like to get involved with a pancake themed Free Range Friday fundraiser and be in with a chance of winning, email Sophie on firstname.lastname@example.org or call Hen Central on 01884 860084 to order your FREE fundraising pack.
