Bude and Stratton Folk Festival returns


Late May bank holiday weekend is the time to welcome another tuneful Bude & Stratton Folk Festival. The festival runs May 22- 25 and is situated at the Falcon Hotel and Rugby Club in Bude alongside the Tree Inn, Stratton which will play host to ‘Just Jammin’ Sessions on Saturday and Monday morning.

Headliners this year include Jackie Oates, returning to the festival in support of her new album The Spy Glass and the Herringbone, Lynne Heraud and Pat Turner, favourites from the Music Hall two years ago, Geoff Lakeman, a fine singer and performer on the duet concertina who lives in near Devon and the famous Liam Robinson Band, playing for the Saturday Barn Dance.

As well as a plethora of music, there will be singing and dancing from the children of Bude Junior School, on Saturday morning on Barkhouse Green or in the case of rain, the Falcon Hotel. This will be at 10 -11.45am and followed by two free children’s workshops in the Rugby Club.

The festival will also feature lots of other South West talent throughout the in The Cream of Cornwall and Devon Concert, hosted by Devon’s talented Jim Causley.
