George Lloyd’s Iernin back in Cornwall

Catharine Rogers as Iernin

On November 1 and 2, Surrey Opera will be bringing George Lloyd’s Iernin back to Cornwall with performances at St John’s Hall in Penzance.

Inspired by the ancient nine maidens stones nearby, Iernin was conceived, composed and first performed in Penzance. Surrey Opera will be bringing it home this year with an exiting and original staging directed by Alexander Hargreaves and conducted by Surrey Opera’s artistic Director Jonathan Butcher.

2013 marks composer George Lloyd’s centenary year and this is the first time Iernin has been staged since 1935.

Performances are at 7.30 and to book visit https://uk.patronbase.com/_Minack/Productions/IR/Performances
