Kernow Fires - Experts in wood and multi-fuel burners

From humble beginnings in the early 1900s as a coal and feed merchant, Kernow Fires has evolved steadily over the years. Known locally for its skills in delivering quality heating with wood and multi-fuel burners of all shapes and sizes, Kernow Fires has undergone further evolution with the inclusion of biomass within its already comprehensive heating showroom at Trenant Industrial Estate, Wadebridge.

kernowfiresSimon Annear, who first created the stove showroom back in 1998, has always looked to the future, importing modern Danish stoves when he saw the market for them and seeking out the latest technologies to drive the business forward. Having been involved with pellet stoves and boilers for the last ten years, biomass heating has been in his sights for quite some time. Now, with the introduction of RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive), where the government essentially pays those who opt for domestic or commercial biomass installations as a reward for their green heating choices, Kernow Fires has seen an increase in demand over the past two years.

During this development Kernow Fires have linked with Simon Annear Plumbing and Heating - experts in ground and air source heat pumps as well as biomass systems and plumbing, to offer a complete package. Simon said: ”It became apparent that as with the fires what we really needed was a place where people could come to explore all the green heating solutions under one roof.” Graham Worcester heads up the biomass side and with his team is able to lead customers through various heating options, surveys and offer a comprehensive installation and service package. Graham and Simon are convinced that people want to deal with long established businesses who have heating at their core.

kernowfires_peopleWith quality always a priority for both Kernow Fires and Simon Annear Plumbing and Heating, the biomass boilerschosen for the showroom are the best Europe has to offer. with over 60,000 customers so far, the Austrian company KWB are market leaders in pellet biomass systems, producing responsible and sustainable boilers with a life expectancy that exceeds that of the current incentive schemes offered. The company also has a long-standing relationship with Euroheat who offer the Bavarian boilers HDG and SHT. Importantly these units will alternate between logs and pellets to increase flexibility and cost saving.

Simon says that even with oil at its current low price there is still a good saving to be made with the schemes which are now available. Kernow Fires is swiftly becoming a “biomass centre” whose aim is to fulfil people’s green heating requirements.

Kernow Biomass Centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturdays 9am to 4pm. Please visit to discuss your requirements or call to make an appointment. Graham Worcester at the Wadebridge office, tel: 01208 812527 or Simon Annear at the Truro office, tel: 01872 271953
