With the new BBC adaptation of Poldark, a whole new generation has been introduced to the wonderful historical fiction created by author Winston Graham. Now Macmillan have re-released the first two novels, Ross Poldark, first published in 1945 and its sequel, Demelza – the two books on which the new BBC series is based.
“My father was deeply attached to Cornwall,” says Andrew Graham, son of Winston. “He loved the ever-changing sea, Cornwall’s mining tradition and its people. Most writers wish for a lasting legacy and here we see his.” A new edition of Poldark’s Cornwall is published by Macmillan in hardback at £20 and is available from all good bookshops.
