Roseland Community Transport has purchased a new mini-bus to keep peninsula residents mobile and connected through regular shopping and lunch trips and excursions around Cornwall.

Julian German, chairman of the not-for-profit social enterprise, invited approaches from potential volunteer drivers who are essential to the services.

“There is no expectation of doing a certain amount of driving - an occasional trip would be great, and will help other people in our community,” he said.

“We are only a small committee, and any additional help is gratefully received - this could be filling in grant forms, using social media, or whatever skill you think maybe useful to us."

A recent survey confirmed the importance of the volunteer medical car scheme and the community bus to the community.

The organisation is seeking grant funding to deliver a round-Roseland bus service one day a week. This will need a paid driver – again, expressions of interest are welcome. Contact Mary Symons at [email protected]
